Serving Organisations, Rather Than Organisations Serving People.

Just had a thought whilst cleaning the flat this morning. Bringing people in to 'manage' or organise things is about those people serving the 'thing' that you're trying to organise. When did we get conned into reversing it, so the 'things' are there simply to facilitate organising? How on earth did we get hoodwinked into a situation where people are serving organisations, rather than organisations serving people?
